60-Minute Hygiene Appointment.
More time for the care you need.

If cleaning feels rushed or there are several areas to address, ask whether a longer visit would help you feel more comfortable and better prepared at home.

Start with what matters to you.

I have a lot of build-up.

Ask whether one longer session or staged appointments would be appropriate.

I need pauses because I am sensitive.

Tell the team before booking so time and comfort measures can be planned.

I want help cleaning around bridges or implants.

Explain which areas are difficult and bring the aids you currently use.

Understanding 60-Minute Hygiene Appointment.

A 60-Minute Hygiene Appointment provides a longer booked session for assessment, cleaning and advice. The duration does not define a treatment package or guarantee a complete course of gum treatment.

Use the extra time with a purpose.

The Plan

Areas & Priorities

Agree what needs attention rather than assuming every longer visit is a deeper clean.

The Treatment

Cleaning & Comfort

The clinician chooses suitable instruments and discusses comfort measures for the planned care.

The Coaching

Cleaning You Can Repeat

Use the visit to practise reaching difficult spaces around your own teeth and repairs or replacement teeth.

What Happens During Treatment.

Your dentist confirms the stages and timing for your own treatment plan.

  1. Check Your Gums and Concerns

Explain bleeding, sensitivity or staining. The clinician checks what type of cleaning is suitable and whether further assessment is needed.

  2. Clean the Suitable Areas

Instruments remove deposits from teeth. Air polishing may be used for suitable surface stains; it does not bleach the teeth. Tell the clinician if you need a pause.

  3. Practise Home Cleaning

You are shown brushing and cleaning between teeth that suit your mouth. Discuss sensitive areas and any difficult-to-reach spaces.

  4. Agree Follow-Up

Some people need further visits or gum treatment. A booked appointment length does not guarantee that every area can be completed.

The exact appointments and recovery time depend on your assessment and the treatment agreed with your dentist.

Your Options with This Treatment.

  1. 60-Minute Visit

    A longer appointment where indicated.

What is the extra time for?

  2. Shorter Staged Visits

    Spreads care over appointments.

    Would this be more comfortable?

  3. Periodontal Treatment

    Targets diagnosed gum disease.

Do I need a treatment course rather than a longer routine clean?

Things to Consider.

Treatment should match the condition of your mouth. Ask about sensitivity, gum changes and why the proposed cleaning is appropriate.

Your 60-Minute Hygiene Appointment questions.

Is a 60-minute visit a deep clean?

Not automatically. Ask exactly what treatment is planned.

Can I use the time just for stain removal?

The clinician should first check whether that is suitable and whether other care is needed.

Will I need fewer visits afterwards?

Not necessarily. Your gum health and response determine the follow-up plan.
